Unification bid: Two Maoist parties meet underway

In a bid to take forward the negotiation for their unification, the two Maoist parties—UCPN (Maoist) and the CPN-Maoist—are holding a meeting at the latter’s office in Buddhanagar, Kathmandu on Sunday.


UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal reached the CPN-Maoist office at 9 am today along with top leaders of the party to hold talks on unification bid.



UCPN (M) leaders Baburam Bhattarai, Narayan Kaji Shrestha, Krishna Bahadur Mahara, Top Bahadur Rayamajhi and CP Gajurel, Ram Bahadur Thapa and Dev Gurung from CPN-Maoist party are present in today’s meeting.



The meeting is a follow-up after the parties last week formed dialogue committees for unification process. The committee members comprises of top leaders from both the parties.



Likewise, a meeting of all Maoist parties is scheduled to be held at Buddhanagar later today.
